The Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins have released their respective inactive players lists for their Week 3 meeting on Sunday afternoon. The teams are coming into the game with very different expectations for the season, with Kansas City looking to make a deep playoff run while the Dolphins are hoping they can grow as a team in the first year of a complete franchise rebuild.
The Chiefs ruled tackle Josh Simmons out of the game with a back injury, and downgraded safety Chamarri Conner from doubtful on Friday to out on Sunday with a knee issue. Both players lead the team’s inactive list, which also included tight end Jared Wiley, linebacker Jack Pyburn, and defensive end Tyreke Smith. Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier was listed as the emergency quarterback.

Miami’s inactive players include wide receiver Caleb Douglas and edge rusher Robert Beal, Jr. Douglas had been ruled out of the game with an ankle injury while Beal was ruled out with a hamstring issue. Wright was officially doubtful, and now will not play, due to a stinger and a foot issue. Also inactive are cornerback Marcellas Dial, Jr., guard DJ Campbell, and tackle Chukwuebuka Godrick. Quarterback Brady Cook was listed as the third emergency quarterback.
The emergency quarterback designation allows for the inactive quarterback to dress and enter the game if injuries happen to both of the quarterbacks on the game day roster.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. Eastern.
