Knights of Chaos Mardi Gras parade lampoons Saints owner Gayle Benson

· Yahoo Sports

The satirical Knights of Chaos parade is a highlight during Carnival season, ramping up the anticipation in the week before Mardi Gras by skewering various public figures from the worlds of sports and politics. And they didn't miss the opportunity to take aim at New Orleans Saints owner Gayle Benson. An effigy in Benson's likeness stood at the front of a parade float, arms shrugging in a nod to her "what else can I do?" quote from a 2025 interview with Jeff Duncan for the Times-Picayune.

The float also attacked high prices for concessions at the Caesars Superdome like $16 hot dogs, $15 dollar beers, and $25 dollar cocktails. Benson confidants like Saints general manager Mickey Loomis and longtime archbishop Gregory Aymond were also portrayed on the parade float.

Of course Benson and her closest associates weren't the only Louisiana sports icons to star in the Knights of Chaos parade. First-year LSU Tigers head coach Lane Kiffin had a float to himself, too, titled Ole Misstake in a nod to his breakup with his old employer. Dressing his statue in a crop top and yoga pants was a nice touch.

How Colts can create over $48 million in salary cap space in 2026

· Yahoo Sports

The Indianapolis Colts are positioned well salary-cap-wise this offseason. However, there is the opportunity for GM Chris Ballard to create quite a bit more room.

According to Over the Cap, the Colts have $35.59 million in available salary cap space at the moment. This is the 13th-most in the NFL.

Visit milkshakeslot.com for more information.

If Ballard wants to generate more spending power, one way he can accomplish that is through contract restructures.

In short, restructures are like using a credit card -- you have money to spend in the present, but the bill comes due down the road.

Oftentimes, when restructuring a deal, teams will take a portion of a player's base salary for that year and convert it to a signing bonus. So rather than incurring the full salary cap effects of the base salary in the present, that amount as a signing bonus can be prorated over the remaining life of the contract -- thus lowering the current year's cap hit.

However, those cap charges that were pushed to future years don't just go away. Now, the player's salary cap hit in 2027 and beyond has increased.

If the Colts wanted to maximize those restructure opportunities, they could create an additional $48.5 million in available cap space for the 2026 offseason.

Although the Colts are positioned well with the salary cap, we could still see some restructures take place. However, it won't be to the fullest extent, like this graphic shows. That would drastically impact the Colts' salary cap situation in future years.

When owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon spoke with the media after the season, she mentioned how Ballard adapted his roster-building approach, which included being more aggressive.

Ballard then seemed to acknowledge that continuing down that path was going to be the plan this offseason.

· Yahoo Sports

Ben Foster has pointed out that Michael Carrick and Manchester United still have a major Premier League challenge ahead in the coming weeks.

Visit catcross.org for more information.

Carrick has gone five matches without defeat since taking over as interim head coach, following the departure of Erik ten Hag in January.

The 44-year-old had led United to four straight wins before their streak was nearly snapped this week.

Tomas Soucek put West Ham ahead early in the second half at the London Stadium, but Benjamin Sesko’s late goal secured a draw for United.

Foster highlights Arsenal trip as key test for Carrick

While Carrick remains unbeaten, Foster believes there’s still plenty of work to do before he can prove he’s the right long-term choice for United.

The former goalkeeper sees an upcoming trip to Arsenal as a key moment for Carrick. Even though it wasn’t technically his first game in charge, Carrick had started working with the team around that time.

“There is no better test at the minute than going away to play Arsenal because you know what you’re going to get,” Foster said on Amazon Prime Video Sport (19 March).

Ben Foster singles out Aston Villa as a major test for Manchester United’s top-four hopes

Manchester United remain in the mix for a Premier League top-four spot after earning a point against West Ham earlier this week.

The Red Devils are just one point ahead of fifth-place Chelsea, five behind fourth-place Aston Villa, and eight behind second-place Manchester City.

United face a crucial meeting with Aston Villa in March, and Ben Foster believes Unai Emery’s side will pose a significant challenge for Michael Carrick’s team.

“Villa scares you,” Foster said on the Fozcast podcast. “Villa are a problem either way. It’ll be a tough game either way.”
